Joke Writing
Scott Adams of Dilbert and The Joy of Work has an interesting approach to joke-writing. He lists what he considers to be the Six Dimensions of Humour:
1. Cuteness 2. Meanness 3. Bizarreness 4. Recognisability 5. Naughtiness 6. Cleverness
And then he employs a “Two of Six” rule, where he layers two of these dimensions.

Okay, today is Comedy Central.
I retooled the pitch a little after yesterday’s call, so we’ll see if it works any better.
Still a little nervous though.
The pitch went well. I got to express about 5% of the show concept, but I think that is actually working to my advantage - they’re into the core concepts, and that’s all I really care about.
I’ll hear back in the next couple of days. Either way, I don’t think I’ll blog about it.
Psyche!
I’m so stoked today. Last night was inspirational.
Fox is going to be calling in 2 hours, so I’m just going to watch Obama’s acceptance speech over and over until then. “Yes We Can” is the mantra.
Manbaby news:
Tomorrow I’m going to be talking to the director of animation at Fox.
And then on Thursday, I’ll be talking to Comedy Central.
I’m nervous.
